The 3rd Annual Light the Way For Hope Luminary: 2026 Overdose Awareness Day Event will be held at Unity Park, 317 E Main Street, Moncks Corner, South Carolina.💜
We are proud to partner with Ernest E. Kennedy Center, the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office, Berkeley County Government, and the Town of Moncks Corner for this meaningful night of remembrance, awareness, and community healing.💜💜
Join us on Monday, August 31st at 6:30 pm as we come together as a community to honor and remember our loved ones—and those who hold them in their hearts.💜
RAIN OR SHINE
Overdose Prevention and Narcan Training will be available throughout the event at the following tables:
📍Berkeley County Coroner’s Office
📍WakeUp Carolina
📍Ernest E. Kennedy Center
Participants will:
📍Learn how to recognize the signs of an overdose
📍Understand the steps to administering Narcan nasal spray
📍Gain knowledge on how to save a life in the event of an overdose
📍Be informed about the SC Good Samaritan Law
Participants who complete this training will:
📍Receive a free overdose prevention kit containing two Narcan nasal sprays
The Light the Way For Hope Luminary Ceremony will begin shortly after sunset.💜
We will be honoring and remembering the lives of our friends, family members, and loved ones through words, luminaries, and video.💜
On this special night, we will honor and share the beautiful lives our community has lost.💜
Friends and family can submit their loved one’s name and/or photo to be honored at Light the Way For Hope Luminary by going to https://wakeupcarolina.org/overdose-awareness/ and filling out the form by Wednesday, August 19th.💜
Their submitted names will be written on a luminary and placed at Unity Park, honoring their beautiful lives.💜
