Take action today and help us end the global overdose crisis
There are so many ways to get involved in International Overdose Awareness Day. Here are a few things you can do to make a difference.

Host an event
Join our global movement by hosting an IOAD event in your local community! Last year we had over 1,000 events registered in at least 42 countries – from memorials to educational activities, advocacy campaigns and more.
Register your activity to appear on our global event map and reach even more people in your community.
Attend an event
Find an event and connect with other IOAD supporters in your local area.
New events are added to the map all the time, so keep checking back to see what’s happening near you.
Shop for merchandise
Show your support and make a statement with official IOAD t-shirts, hoodies, pins, stickers, event flags and more.
Every purchase helps us grow IOAD and make a bigger impact.
Light up a landmark
Getting a landmark in your community lit up purple on the night of 31 August is a powerful way to raise awareness..
It’s easy to do – reach out now and ask!
Post a tribute
Honoring the memories of those tragically lost to overdose and standing together in support is at the heart of IOAD.
Share a tribute to remember a loved one, or read the heartfelt messages from others.
Share knowledge
Overdose education and awareness saves lives.
Explore our educational resources, from fact sheets to global statistics, and help spread important messages in your community.
