August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day, a global day to remember those we’ve lost, support those who are grieving, and help end the stigma surrounding substance use and overdose.

Throughout the month of August, Velocity Dance will donate a percentage of all punchpass sales to support the International Overdose Awareness Day movement. Every class you take helps us give back to this important cause.

Not ready to dance? You’re still welcome to be part of the experience. Throughout August, all classes will be open to observers for a small $5 fee, with those proceeds also supporting our fundraising efforts.

We’ll also have tribute cards available in the studio for anyone who would like to honor the memory of a loved one. These cards are open to anyone experiencing loss—not only those affected by overdose. You’re invited to write a name or message and pin it to our remembrance board throughout the month as we hold space for grief, remembrance, and healing together.

On August 31, we’ll share a special thank-you and remembrance video featuring the tribute board to honor those remembered and recognize our incredible community for helping make a difference.
