The Michael Boedo Scholarship, now the Michael Boedo Community Foundation, was founded in 2017 in honor of its namesake, Michael Boedo. Michael was a lifelong resident of the village of Silver Creek. After graduating from Silver Creek Central School, he aspired to pursue a career in the medical field, joining Lakeshore Hospital as a phlebotomist. Tragically, in 2017, Michael’s life was cut short due to an accidental overdose. These incidents occur all too frequently in our communities, affecting our friends, coworkers, everyday people, and families. At the foundation, we aim to assist our communities, reduce stigma, and combat this disease.
