The Recovery Advocacy Warriors (RAW) will be hosting a Light Up The Darkness Overdose
Awareness Walk on Saturday, August 31st from 8:00 to 10:00 pm, starting at St. Mary’s parking lot in
Monroe, Michigan walking down Monroe Street South til about 4th street where we will cross Monroe
Street to turn back towards St. Mary’s walking north on Monroe Street, we will cross at the light back to
St. Mary’s Parking lot. We are writing this letter to ask that you save the date on your calendar, and
support our event. Our hope is that many of the service providers, who partner with those in recovery
within our community, will be able to attend. We will start the event with a brief time of remembrance
for friends and family to reflect on those loved ones who have lost their fight with addiction. We invite
the community and their families to gather and walk with us, we will light up the darkness by wearing
glow up jewelry, and holding black poster board painted with glow markers.
