The Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) invites you to join us in marking Overdose Awareness and Remembrance Day with a community-centered event at City Hall Park on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
This event aims to honor the lives lost to overdose, reduce stigma, and strengthen community healing and awareness. As a fellow service provider in our community, your presence and voice are vital to this effort.
We are currently inviting partner organizations to:
Host a resource tent to share information, services, and support with community members.
Participate in a remembrance space or community reflection activities.
Join us in conversation and community presence throughout the event.
The event will feature a central seating area, approximately eight tents, an art display, and community speakers.
This is a meaningful opportunity for us to come together as service providers, neighbors, and allies in response to the ongoing impact of overdose in our community. We hope you will consider joining us in this important day of remembrance, education, and connection.
