The Portsmouth Health Department is thrilled to invite you to a unique and impactful event, “Cones & Chrome: Scoops for Awareness,” which will take place on August 31, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 1701 High St, Portsmouth, VA, 23704. This event is a special occasion to recognize International Overdose Awareness Day and will feature a vibrant car show combined with crucial community engagement and educational efforts.
Event Highlights:
🚗 Car Show Extravaganza: Enjoy a showcase of beautifully decorated cars, with awards like “Best in Show” and “Best Chevy,” organized by The 757 Midnight Riders.
📚 Educational Initiatives: Participate in REVIVE Training provided by the Portsmouth Health Department to learn how to recognize and respond to an overdose. Harm reduction kits, including Naloxone, will be available, alongside valuable resources from community partners like VA Fentanyl Awareness and DSS.
🍦 Community Engagement: Savor purple soft-serve ice cream from Mr. Cream Cone, enjoy DJ entertainment, and explore resource tables from various local organizations.
