It is recognized by Proclamation from the Governor of Arkansas for Purple Ribbon Week. We plan to have a Ribbon cutting as a launch for the first Purple Ribbon Week ever in our state. We want to share in awareness of Drug Overdose and offer our children a place to wear their purple ribbons proudly. We hope this will start the conversation for the children left behind to know they are not alone in their challenges after losing a parent AND bring awareness of the dangers of substance abuse for all children. We are also celebrating recovery as we wear our purple ribbons right in to the first of September. Media outlets will be present, we have shirts for sale and winners of our poster board contest-“Standing Together Against Drugs” promoted for the kids. We need to reach the smallest impacted by the largest epidemic, remember those we have lost and celebrate those in recovery.

Overdose affects everyone. From grieving families to spontaneous first responders, the impacts of overdose are far-reaching and fall indiscriminately.

Sign up to the International Overdose Awareness Day newsletter and become part of the global movement to end overdose.
