Remember. Respond. Reach Out. is a 90-minute internal faculty–student International Overdose Awareness Day programme organised by Ahamsutra Social Lab under S.P.A.R.K., in collaboration with the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Hyderabad.

Held on Monday, 31 August 2026, from 2:15 to 3:45 PM at the Centre of Excellence, IMH, the programme brings together IMH leadership, faculty, postgraduate students, nursing staff and nursing students for a facilitated dialogue on overdose awareness, substance dependence, stigma, compassionate care, referral pathways, prevention and community response.

Rather than a sequence of individual speeches, two expert-dialogue sessions use generalised questions, multidisciplinary faculty perspectives and academic synthesis. Brief voluntary Student Voices segments follow each expert dialogue, inviting participants to reflect on learning, compassionate communication and the responsibility of future healthcare professionals to connect people with appropriate care.

A closing dialogue connects institutional knowledge with practical prevention and community-health action. The programme concludes with a remembrance and IOAD solidarity placard action, a group photograph and information on appropriate support pathways, including Tele-MANAS 14416.

Participation is internal. Student reflections are voluntary. Any photography, video or short interviews are consent-based and conducted only within IMH-approved boundaries. No patients, wards, consultations, clinical records or clinical activity will be photographed or filmed.

The event observes International Overdose Awareness Day 2026 and its theme, “25 Years On. Still Needed.”
