🕯️INTERNATIONAL OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY CANDLELIGHT VIGIL🕯️

Join us on Monday, August 31st at Beasley Park from 7 pm – 10 pm in Hamilton, ON as we gather to remember and honour the loved ones and community members we have lost to drug poisoning and overdose deaths.

Hosted by the Solidarity Alliance of People Who Use Drugs (SAPWUD), founded by Kayla Hagerty (@kayluminati13), a person in recovery whose father died from an accidental overdose. Kayla went on to earn a Master’s degree in Sociology, with a focus on drug policy and the impacts of the overdose crisis. This annual vigil creates space for grief, solidarity, compassion, and community, while recognizing that these deaths are preventable.

We honour the dead by fighting for the living.
