he Rural Empowered Drug Users Network (REDUN) and the Castlegar Fentanyl Opioid Working Group is hosting an International Overdose Awareness Day event on Monday, Aug. 31.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kootenay Cannabis (1306 Columbia Ave.).

The event will include a community memorial and an information table. The local theme alligns with this year’s international theme “25 years on, still needed.”

“All those affected or wanting to learn more about the overdose crisis are invited to visit us,” says the event’s organizers. “Everyone welcome.”
