On August 31st Native C.O.R.E will be showing of Purple Lights in downtown Stockton, Ca at The Huddle CoWork 110 N. San Joaquin St to bring awareness of National Overdose Awareness Day.
At Native C.O.R.E 1351 W. Oak St. we will be hosting an event August 31st for National Overdose Awareness Day. One of the main purposes for OD Awareness Day is to remember those who have passed on from Overdose and remember them for their life that they lived and not how they passed away. We want the participants to know that they are not alone and dispel any shame that they would associated with losing someone to an addiction or overdose. We will ask the participants to bring a picture of their loved ones for our OD Memorial Wall and give purple candles for our Remembrance Vigil for lost loved ones. At our event we will have a list of at least three testimonies and one live skit of an overdose case scenario.
At our event we plan on providing resources for Overdose Prevention, MAT services and resources from local support groups. We also would like to provide special Overdose Awareness takeaways.

The overdose epidemic is everyone's problem, but it's being left to a small group to step up.

Do your part and support these unrecognised responders by pushing for change today.
