The Cyprus National Addictions Authority (NAAC) will mark International Overdose Awareness Day with a public awareness event at Eleftheria Square in Nicosia. NAAC staff, together with the CARE ZONE mobile harm reduction unit (operated by the NGO “STOCHOS”), will engage with the public and distribute educational materials on overdose prevention, harm reduction and available support services. The event will also include a live radio broadcast to raise public awareness and promote evidence-based messages on overdose prevention. Representatives of treatment and harm reduction services will be invited to participate, providing information about their programmes and highlighting the importance of collaboration in preventing overdose deaths and supporting people who use drugs.
