PACTES (Programme d’Action Communautaire et de Transmission pour Éviter les Surdoses) is a Swiss initiative developed by GREA (French-speaking Switzerland’s addiction studies group) in partnership with PROFAN, a Canadian peer-based overdose prevention training programme run by AIDQ (Quebec). PACTES aims to build a network of trainer pairs — one peer with lived experience, one professional — who will deliver community-based overdose prevention training across French-speaking Switzerland in 2026 and beyond. At its core, PACTES is a train-the-trainer programme: participants first receive training designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills to then train others in their communities and institutions.
