We are hosting an International Overdose Awareness Day Virtual 5k this year across our counties – Boulder, Jefferson, and Larimer. Participants can run, walk, bike, hike, or move in any way that suits them anytime between Sunday August 22nd and OAD – August 31st. Sign up is free, and participants will have the option to donate to organizations in their counties that are combating stigma around substance use.
We will send participants a purple bandana to wear while they run, and if they are able to donate, we will also send them an IOAD sticker. We have an online form for participants to submit their times as well as any pictures of them completing the 5k that they’d like to share. After the last day of the 5K window, we will send everyone who signed up an email with a multimedia celebration of the 5k as well as a list of resources and places to get Narcan and Narcan training across all participating counties.
