Isanti Mayor Luke Merrill proclaimed August as Overdose Awareness Month and August 31 as Overdose Awareness Day during a city council meeting.

Purple ribbons were placed along Main Street in Isanti to honor the observance. The initiative holds deep personal meaning for the community, including family members affected by accidental overdoses
