    We will end our rally with a remembrance and balloon release. Everyone is encouraged to bring a photo of those they have lost to overdose for the balloon release.

    This will be our first annual overdose awareness & Memory Walk. Walking in memory of those loved, lost and still struggling. The walk will begin at the Gazebo in Newport, we will walk about a mile to bring awareness to the drug epidemic in our community. Picture boards will be set up in memory of our loved ones lost to a substance passing. Guest speaker Tim Ryan founder/executive director at A man in recovery, helping one addict at a time. He is also a Midwest outreach director at the Banyan treatment center.
    Some other local community members will be speaking and giving testimonies, then ending with a lantern-river balloon release.

    The FED UP! Coalition to End the Opioid Epidemic is calling for immediate, coordinated and comprehensive federal action to end the epidemic of addiction and overdose deaths attributed to opioids (including heroin).
