Dundee’s biggest Overdose Awareness Event to date! Join Hillcrest Futures harm reduction services along with Positive Steps, With You, Penumbra, Hillcrest Futures recovery services, Strive (The Corner & Hillcrest), Transform and many more! We would like to invite you to stand alongside others across Dundee for International Overdose Awareness Day, taking place on 31st August, 10:00am – 2:00pm in City Square, Dundee. The theme for this year’s overdose awareness day is “25 years, Still Needed”.
This day is about more than awareness. It’s about remembrance, compassion, and unity.
Last year, Dundee lost 48 people to drug-related deaths. This year, we are already at 23 lives lost. These are not just numbers. They are people, individuals with families, friends, and stories. Each loss leaves a lasting impact on loved ones and on our communities.
Together, we have an opportunity to come together in the heart of the city to show that no one is alone. By standing side by side, we can send a powerful message of hope, support, and solidarity to those currently struggling, and to those who have been affected by loss.
We are inviting third sector and partner services to be part of this important day, whether that is through hosting a stall, sharing information, engaging with the public, or simply being present. Every conversation, every connection, and every act of compassion can make a difference.
