Informational Take-Homes: All registered participants received specific educational packets and “informational take-homes” focused on substance use awareness, local tribal recovery services, and preventative care.
Resource Awareness: The gathering served as a direct pathway to connect tribal and local community members with The Healing Center at Washoe Tribal Health. Staff were available to outline their ongoing behavioral health services, culturally grounded addiction support, and wellness programs.
The “Color” Symbolism: Organizers used the vibrant, non-toxic colored powder thrown at participants as a visual tool to break the social stigma associated with addiction, turning the 1.1-mile loop into an active celebration of life, hope, and community recovery.
