Wear Purple for Overdose Awareness Day 2026

The Guam National Guard Substance Abuse and Suicide Prevention with Resilience Support (SASPRS) Program invites Service Members, Civilian Employees, and Families to participate in Wear Purple for Overdose Awareness Day on August 31, 2026, in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day and this year’s theme,”25 Years On. Still Needed.”

Participants are encouraged to wear purple to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and engage in conversations about overdose prevention and recovery. SASPRS will also distribute overdose awareness giveaways, including pillboxes that promote safe medication management and responsible medication use. Together, we can help spread the message: Wear Purple. Raise Awareness. Save Lives.
