On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, 12 PM – 1 PM, at the Watertown City Hall, the community is invited to commemorate and honor the lives lost to overdose deaths and to honor and celebrate the lives of those who are living their recovery. To bring attention to the destructive nature of substance abuse and addiction, the event will provide awareness and information about the disease of addiction; provide resources on where to get help for someone who is currently struggling with addiction; provide naloxone training to individuals concerned about a family member or friend; and provide a place of healing and remembrance for those who have lost loved ones due to addiction.

State and local lawmakers and law enforcement personnel will renew their commitment to assist the community and the Alliance for Better Communities to reduce and mitigate the impact of drugs in our community. The Chairman of the Jefferson County Legislature will read the proclamation. Attendees will have the opportunity to sign the banner and to place a foot print with a loved ones name on a memorial tapestry. Appropriate music will be provided by Fyne Print Williams, a local artist.
