In both Truro and Amherst the Northern Healthy Connections Society will have a display board promoting the Harm Reduction/Needle Exchange/Naloxone Training provided throughout the northern zone of Nova Scotia (Colchester-East Hants, Cumberland and Pictou Counties). This area is also home to three Indigenous/First Nations Communities (Millbrook, Sipkne’katik and Pictou Landing). Posters and information has been displayed and distributed in various locations such as local Pharmacies, Library, Public Health, Mental Health, etc. The display board and Naloxone Training will be set up at the Farmers’ Market in Amherst, Nova Scotia on Friday August 27th and at the Truro Farmers’ Market on Saturday August 28th. Board members will be joining the staff to assist. There will be copies of the material downloaded and printed related to overdoes and opioids, alcohol, stimulants, meth, etc available to anyone interested in acquiring educational and awareness material.
