Join us for Chalk the Walk on International Overdose Awareness Day!
“A Time to Remember, A Time to Act.”
Our community will come together to create a public art memorial for those we have lost to overdose. This event takes place in East Toledo, consistently one of the highest overdose neighborhoods in Northwest Ohio. We will gather at Talbot Clinical Services, LLC, a community hub for Harm Reduction and Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) services. Professional artists will create chalk art on the blacktop of the parking lot. Chalk will be provided for the community to leave messages and drawings on the surrounding public sidewalks.
If you would like to remember a loved one who has died from an overdose, please fill out this form so their name can be chalked on the sidewalk and read aloud. A brief meditation and a moment of silence will accompany our reading of these names.
If you are an artist who would like to request a designated 3’x3′-6’x6′ space, please contact:
*Chalk the Walk will follow all public health guidelines for social distancing. Face coverings are required. Throughout the day we will “go live” to interview the artists. We will also broadcast the brief meditation, reading of names, and moment of silence.
