International Overdose Awareness Day is a time to remember those we have lost to overdose, acknowledge the impact on families and communities, and raise awareness about overdose prevention and support.

This year, we will come together as staff to reflect, learn and connect through a lived-experience guest speaker who will share their story and insights. We will also participate in paper crane folding as a meaningful activity of remembrance, hope and healing.

The day provides an opportunity to have open and respectful conversations about overdose, reduce stigma, increase understanding, and recognise the importance of compassion, connection and support for people affected by alcohol and other drug use.

Together, we remember, we learn, and we work towards a safer and more supportive community.
