Scripps Mercy Hospital and the California Bridge Program are working together to break the cycle of addiction by implementing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with buprenorphine to patients with opioid related issues. Buprenorphine helps to prevent relapse by reducing cravings and withdrawal. Access to this treatment is available 24/7 at Scripps Mercy Emergency Department for all patients regardless of income, insurance, race, creed, homelessness, or sexual preference. The Scripps provider can provide a prescription for the buprenorphine, and a counselor will work with you to find an outpatient clinic to continue treatment.
