This is a countywide event which includes a candlelight vigil and remembrance ceremony, preceded by a resource fair and the Montgomery Goes Purple Kickoff of International Recovery Month. This is a family friendly, free event (food and other items will be available for purchase).

The Recovery Month Kickoff highlights many more events throughout September to celebrate recovery and to help those in need of treatment find their pathway to recovery. The Montgomery Goes Purple Coalition will continue to our prevention & recovery work and efforts to improve access to mental health and substance use care through education, legislation, and advocacy to help reduce the stigma associated with mental health and substance use disorders by talking about them and letting people know there is help available.
