nternational Overdose Awareness Day is Aug. 31, and a local organization is throwing a barbecue to raise awareness for it.
The Squeal Like A Pig, No One Gets Left Behind, All Recovery Hog Roast benefit for LULA NFP is Aug. 29, from noon – 4 p.m. at Jubilee State Park, 13921 W. Route 150.
The menu includes pulled pork, coleslaw, mac and cheese, baked beans, plus a variety of homemade desserts for a bake sale. Entry fee is $20.
LULA NFP, which stands for Love You Like Always, is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide peer advocacy, resources, harm-reduction supplies, temporary shelter and street support, according to its website.
