Due to COVID-19 all activities were held virtually. The Alliance partnered with the Black River Drive-In Movie Theater to run the TRIBUTE TO OVERDOSE VICTIMS PowerPoint on a loop from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM until the previews were aired. The drive-in movie theater owner created a 30-minute preview show interspersed with the reading of the 2020 International Overdose Awareness Day Proclamation by the county administrator; messages by the Jefferson County District Attorney, Jefferson County Sheriff, and New York State Assemlyman. Additionally, 27 television ads the Alliance had created ranging from education about Narcan and how to obtain a Narcan reversal kit, Disease of Opioid Addiction, 911 Good Samaritan Law, as well as youth-oriented PSA’s regarding underage prescription drug use not prescribed by a doctor, and Safe Medication Disposal Box, were rotated throughout the preview show and intermissions.

All adult occupants of cars coming through the gate received “swag bags” containing Alliance materials as well as materials from the two local addiction and mental health treatment facilities.
