August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day. It is the world’s largest campaign to end overdose, remember those who have died, and acknowledge the grief of the families and friends left behind. This day aims to raise awareness about overdose, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, and promote action and knowledge to prevent overdose.
Since 2023, 515 Mississippians have suffered accidental overdoses, with over 400 resulting in fatalities. Each of these tragic losses were preventable.
We will join together to remember the lives lost, raise awareness about the dangers of overdose, and celebrate recovery this year on August 31st on the Natchez, Mississippi Bluff from 8am-12pm, alongside the Natchez Downtown Farmer’s Market.
Come celebrate with us and receive a free Narcan kit!
