Rotary Mount Gambier West and The Limestone Coast Drug Action Team would like to host a vigil to remember those who have lost their lives to overdose and the families who have lost a loved one to overdose. This event will be held to reduce stigma and support our community by lining the rim of The Blue Lake as a symbol of unity and acknowledgement.
The event will commence at 5.30pm where a brief discussion regarding overdose will take place before a pause of silence. The community are encouraged to wear purple and bring a candle along with them to honor and remember those lives lost.
The Mt Gambier attraction sites – The Main Corner, Centenary Tower, The Lady Nelson will also be lit purple on the evening of as a symbol of respect, remembrance and support.
