MOBILE, Ala. — The Drug Education Council marked Overdose Awareness Day and kicked off Recovery Month with an event bringing together families, survivors and advocates for a night of remembrance.

Overdose Awareness Day honors lives lost and reminds families that help is available. Overdose numbers in Mobile County are down this year, but officials say a recent spike shows the crisis is not over.
