On 28 August, Penington Institute will launch Australia’s Annual Overdose Report 2023 in a public webinar. The webinar will include an opening address from Penington Institute’s CEO, John Ryan, a presentation of the key findings from the report by Dr Karen Gelb, and a Q&A for participants to delve deeper into the report findings.

We are also honoured to be joined by Penington Institute Board Member and Director of the Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Council (South Australia), Scott Wilson. In a special address, Scott will highlight key findings and implications for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This webinar is appropriate for policy makers and public servants, frontline workers, researchers, and other professionals or people who might work or interact with people impacted by overdose or drug use or misuse, with a particular focus on those people working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This event coincides with International Overdose Awareness Day 2023 – the world’s largest campaign to end overdose which is convened by Penington Institute.
