The UPMC Latterman Family Health Center will be hosting an International Overdose Awareness Day Community Event this year at the First Step Recovery Homes, Inc. warehouse location (820 Market St, Mckeesport, PA 15132), from the hours of 4:00pm – 7:00pm on the evening of Wednesday, August 31st, 2022. The event is free to attend and open to the public. Music, free food and refreshments will be provided, and there will also be a free clothing shop available for families to stop by and take what they need. A certified Opioid Response Network trainer will be onsite providing free Narcan trainings and overdose prevention & response education throughout the event for any interested attendees. A community resource fair comprised of local organizations will also be available to attendees. The purpose of this event is to promote individual linkage to our valuable community resources, to honor those who have lost their lives to overdose and/or have been affected by OUD, and to celebrate those who have found recovery. Interested attendees may bring a photo of a loved one who has lost his or her life to overdose to post on our Remembrance/Memorial Banner during the event (*Attendees may also sign a name and/or write a meaningful message on this banner).

The overdose epidemic is everyone's problem, but it's being left to a small group to step up.
