This years event will feature a row of purple flags leading up to the building entrance, one for each life lost to OD in 2022 in Lorain County. Inside there will be a table with a candle light display where families can place pictures of their loved ones. Again, the large banner will be displayed, for families to write their loved ones names or a remembrance. The keynote speaker this year is a NY Times best selling author and nationally know artist who lost her son to addiction and began painting and writing to deal with her grief. In addition, those in recovery and the families of those lost to overdose will share their stories. The Lorain County Opioid Action Team and other community partners will also be on hand to share important resources.

Overdose affects everyone. From grieving families to spontaneous first responders, the impacts of overdose are far-reaching and fall indiscriminately.

Sign up to the International Overdose Awareness Day newsletter and become part of the global movement to end overdose.
