The Fairfield County Overdose Awareness Day event features several core activities centered around remembrance, peer support, and education:
Guest Speakers & Recovery Stories: A lineup of local leaders, law enforcement officials, and courts join individuals in active recovery who share their personal stories of overcoming addiction.
Highlighting Peer Support: In alignment with the international theme “25 Years On. Still Needed,” the event specifically highlights the essential, life-saving work of local peer support specialists.
Free Resources: More than 20 local community health and service agencies set up booths offering information on local treatment programs, mental health support, and free overdose prevention tools.
Music & Community Space: A live DJ provides music throughout the evening to foster an environment of hope, connection, and healing.
Memorial Walk: To close out the night, attendees participate in a collective memorial walk through downtown Lancaster to honor the 29 lives lost to overdose in the county in 2025.
