The MNCLHD will be hosting an alcohol and other drugs (AOD) harm reduction workshop for community services and allied health workers. 28th August 9-3pm workshop. A light lunch and refreshments will also be included Please note places are limited
The training will provide participants with improved:
• Knowledge of AOD use and trends in NSW/Australia
• Understanding of stigma and its impact on people who use drugs
• Knowledge of AOD and harm reduction strategies to share with others
• Understanding of overdose and how to prevent harm
The training will be conducted by Annie Bleeker
Annie has over 35 years’ experience working in the HIV/AIDS and drugs and alcohol field. She has conducted research with people who use alcohol and other drugs, taught at several universities and has delivered training to allied health workers and community members. She has lived and worked in Australia, Indonesia and the Netherlands and is passionate about reducing stigma for people who use alcohol and other drugs.
