Remake is an autobiographical documentary by filmmaker Ross McElwee that documents the tragic death of his son, Adrian, who passed away from a fentanyl overdose. It explores a father’s grief and his attempt to understand his son’s struggles with addiction, interwoven with the stalled effort to adapt McElwee’s landmark 1986 documentary, Sherman’s March, into a Hollywood fictional film (The New Yorker)
