The flag-raising ceremony marks the beginning of Overdose Awareness Week. MiraVista Behavioral Health Center provides psychiatric care and substance use recovery services to residents in western Massachusetts.

Jeanine Loewen serves as the chief executive officer of MiraVista Behavioral Health Center. She stated that the center’s staff is prepared at all times to assist individuals on their recovery journeys.

“It symbolizes a lot, it symbolizes that we have awareness, support,” Loewen said. “That our community has somewhere to come to. That we cannot only help the families that have lost people, that we can help those that need the help.”
