n recognition of Overdose Awareness Day, Greene County Public Health is giving the community an opportunity to learn how to use naloxone, a medication that can quickly reverse an opioid overdose.
The training days will take place on Monday, Aug. 24, and Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 4-6 p.m. at the Fairborn Community Library and Xenia YMCA, respectively.
Each person who completes the training will receive a free first aid kit and a free naloxone kit to take home while supplies last.
“Learning how to use naloxone is a simple way to be ready when someone needs help,” said Health Educator for Harm Reduction Erin Gebhardt. “You do not need to be a medical professional. With just 10 minutes of training, you can gain the knowledge and confidence to make a difference.”
