International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) on the 31st of August is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those who have died from an overdose, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.
This year, the IOAD 2024 theme, “Together we can”, highlights the power of our community when we all stand together.
To raise awareness of IOAD and showcase the alcohol and other drugs and mental health services available in the Central West region, Mission Australia has partnered with our local community service providers ‘The Royal Flying Doctors Service, Headspace, Stand By, Lifeline, Lives Lived Well and our Local Health District Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Services’ to host a community campaign at the Macquarie Lion’s Park on the 30th of August at 10:00am as part of our ongoing commitment to improving recovery outcomes for people impacted by addiction.
