The Montgomery County Overdose Awareness Day Event is on Thursday August 31, 2023 from 5-9pm EST at Levitt Pavilion in Dayton, Ohio. It will feature over 40 service vendors (treatment, peers, insurance linkage, primary care linkage, harm reduction, Project Dawn and prevention services), the creation of an overdose awareness mosaic art piece, a radio remote from a local Cox Media station, event bags for kids and adults, a kids area featuring face painters and carnival games, local dignitaries and a concert showcasing two artists in recovery. We will also have a remembrance project where attendees can write their loved ones lost to overdose on a purple pinwheel, which will then all be displayed in a grassy area of the square along Dayton’s Main Street.

Overdose affects everyone. From grieving families to spontaneous first responders, the impacts of overdose are far-reaching and fall indiscriminately.

Sign up to the International Overdose Awareness Day newsletter and become part of the global movement to end overdose.
