The C&FCAP Memorial service will honor the lives that we have lost to drug overdose with speakers, a support letter writing area and note card writing for encouragement of those with lived experience and memory rock painting for our friends and family and we will distribute Narcan and Fentanyl test strips during the event and at six different locations throughout the day. Dr. Beth Weinstock from Birdie’s Light, which is a non-profit organization that Dr. Weinstock and her family founded to honor her son, Eli, who died of an overdose at 20 years old when attending American University due to accidental Fentanyl ingestion, will be speaking. Brenda Steward, founder of The Addict’s Parent United, TAPU, will share her story as a parent of two children who have the disease of addiction and what it means for a parent to recover.

The overdose epidemic is everyone's problem, but it's being left to a small group to step up.
