Waves of Awareness unites communities across northeast Ohio to honor and remember our friends and family members lost to accidental overdoses.
We unite to end the stigma around mental health and addiction, and send a message to people who are struggling – or to those that are on a pathway of recovery – that they are loved and valued.
We remind the community about the risk of drug overdose by promoting education and resources, supporting evidence-based harm reduction, and reaching out to our public officials to make lifesaving policy changes.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with a Memorial Video, followed by guest speakers, public officials. We will have 64+ community providers, yoga in the Square, meditation and will end the day with a candlelit Walk of Remembrance.
