    We will be raising awareness of signs and symptoms of overdose, how to prevent one and what to do if one occurs.
    As well as, offering first aid advice & information from St John Ambulance, promoting the correct use of Prenoxad pens and signposting to the various services across the city who promote recovery with Equinox Care.

    Newham Rise will be planting a memorial tree in honour of people who have passed away due to overdose. The memorial tree will also offer a space for service users to reflect. The service will also be providing overdose awareness training and naloxone training throughout the day.

    Train to be a hero with us on International Overdose Awareness Day!

    In just 10 minutes we can train you to administer a lifesaving naloxone injection.

    Naloxone reverses the effects of opiates and can save the life of someone suffering from opiate overdose. Drop in to see us between 10am and 1pm on 31st August to pick up a naloxone kit, learn how to use it, and become a #BRADFORDLIFESAVER!

    All week in The Vault we’ll have a memorial board where you can share your thoughts, messages, poems and memories of those we have lost. To respect anonymity we politely ask that you don’t post photos or full names.

    Beginning on the 26th August I will be riding by bicycle from London to Paris to reflect on those in my life that have been affected by overdose, and to encourage people to give spare shmeckles, rubles, pesos, dollars, pounds, silver or good vibes they have lying around to the fine folk running Overdose Awareness Day. I’ll be taking photos along the way and writing short messages on my pannier bags from those who pledge a donation. With your financial support and a little time spent learning about overdose, future deaths can be prevented.

    This ride is currently intended to be undertaken solo, but the more the merrier – if you are interested in joining me please let me know.

    The event is a peer run event with food and refreshments, lots of harm reduction info on safe injecting, BBVs, all different drug ODs etc. We will be providing Take Home Naloxone kits. This year we are having a particular focus on the lives saved by drug consumption rooms, Take Home Naloxone and the increase yet again in drug related deaths in the UK with it leading in DRDs in Europe year on year and what we can do about it. We will also have a condolence book we have been using for many years now were people can write the names or messages for loved ones who have needlessly died.

    Office and community based events will be held across Dyfed (Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire) to raise the awareness that damaging and fatal overdose can happen with illegal, legal and prescribed drugs. Information will available to everyone in our communities that want to learn how to avoid or help someone in an overdose.
    Prenoxad/Naloxone training and distribution will be available for those at risk along with needle exchange, free blood borne virus tests and open access for confidential support with drug and alcohol issues.
