Dr. Adams will discuss the worsening opioid overdose crisis in the U.S., his experience as the Indiana State Health Commissioner during the nation’s largest HIV & Hepatitis C outbreak associated with IV drug use, the impact of substance use disorder on his life, his work as “America’s Doctor” fighting the issues of substance use disorder and ensuing stigma, mental illness, and the opioid epidemic, and the importance of the work being done to combat these public health crises.
