Overdose Awareness Day is recognized Internationally every year on August 31. This year, some of the area organizations, coalitions, committees, and groups have banded together on very short notice and organized an event for our region to raise awareness that overdoses are happening in our community and to remembers those we have lost. The event is free and open to everyone. The first 200 people to register will receive a purple awareness t-shirt and “swag bag”. The swag bag is a medication lock box that includes information on opioid overdose, fentanyl overdose, Leave Behind card, signs over overdose, harm reduction cards, and county contact information. People who have registered will pick up their items at a Registration location and can walk/run at any of the locations or on their own. We would like to post as many photos as possible to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, (and whatever else) to flood it with the color purple. NARCAN and training will be available at most pick-up and walk sites.
HOW TO REGISTER: Private Message on Voices for Recovery-Chequamegon Bay Include *Name, *Age, *Size of shirt, *location of pickup
Updates will be posted on the Voices for Recovery-Chequamegon Bay Facebook page. We encourage this event to be shared.
