Blue Cross Society of Tanzania (BCST) Commemoration of International Overdose Awareness Day

As part of the commemoration of International Overdose Awareness Day, Blue Cross Society of Tanzania (BCST) will honor and remember individuals who have lost their lives due to drug overdose, tobacco use, and harmful alcohol consumption. We also extend our sympathy to the families and communities affected by these preventable deaths.

The event will serve as an opportunity to raise public awareness about the harmful effects of drug use, tobacco smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption on individuals, families, and communities. Through health education and community engagement, BCST aims to promote prevention, encourage healthy lifestyles, and inspire individuals to seek help before substance use leads to serious harm or death.

The commemoration will be held at Elimu Yetu Centre, one of BCST’s key partners in delivering drug prevention interventions. The event will primarily engage young people who are in great need of evidence-based drug prevention education, equipping them with the knowledge and life skills necessary to make healthy choices and become advocates for a drug-free future.

Through this event, BCST reaffirms its commitment to preventing alcohol, tobacco, and other drug-related harm by promoting awareness, prevention, and community participation in building healthier and safer communities.
