The Carter County Substance Abuse Memorial is an event where Carter County Residents can celebrate the lives of loved ones lost to accidental overdose or alcohol poisoning. It is the mission of the Carter County Substance Abuse Prevention Committee (CCSAPC) to help reduce the stigma associated with Substance Use Disorders, provide hope and support for those in recovery, and to also prevent substance misuse from occurring in Carter County, Oklahoma, through education. The committee is working to prevent the misuse of alcohol, marijuana, stimulants, and prescription drugs. The event will have testimonials, free food, music, prizes, resource materials, a candlelight vigil, a live radio broadcast, among other activities. The memorial is set up to provide information on International Overdose Awareness Day and its importance.

The overdose epidemic is everyone's problem, but it's being left to a small group to step up.

Do your part and support these unrecognised responders by pushing for change today.
