On August 28th from 3-5 pm, Ames will hold an Overdose Awareness Day event at Bandshell Park. Join us to remember the thousands of lives lost due to the opioid epidemic. We will do a Narcan/Naloxone training where each person can learn how to administer Narcan. We will also have a Kona Ice Shaved Ice truck.

Each day, more than 130 people die from opioid-related overdoses. From 1999 to 2019, more than 500,000 people died from an opioid-related overdose.

We hope to see you at Bandshell Park on August 28th at 3 pm to join us in raising awareness of overdoses, reducing the stigma of drug-related deaths and acknowledging the grief felt by families and friends.

The overdose epidemic is everyone's problem, but it's being left to a small group to step up.

Do your part and support these unrecognised responders by pushing for change today.
