    *August 31, 2020 at 7:30pm: An informal gathering for IOAD at Constable Ezio Faraone Park (11004 97 Avenue NW) with candlelight vigil at 8.45pm as the High Level Bridge will be lit up in purple in honour of IOAD. (Candles will not be provided this year). Physically distancing measures are in place in the park.

    This year due to Covid-19 we are building a Memorial Garden to all lost.
    We have 100 hearts and we are collecting names to add, then place on the fence.
    Building a rock monument with a water fountain and planted flowers so they grow year round and few other items.  Will do 2 Candle Light ups at 6 PM and 8 PM to give everyone a chance to visit. Can be seen from Milton Street.

During our event we will have many first voice speakers, drumming and singing, and reading of names of people who have passed due to the overdose crisis. We will follow the reading of names with a moment of silence and smudging.

    Weathered is a digital photography exhibition & fundraising campaign raising awareness for overdose death.

    Weathered is asking families to produce memorialized photographs of shoes and mementos belonging to loved ones who have lost their lives to an overdose. Weathered sets out to raise awareness for overdose death and funds for Street Health’s Overdose Prevention Site.

    All photograph submissions will be accepted (June 1st – July 6th, 2020). We encourage everyone, regardless of skill level, to submit a memorialized photograph with a written description about their loved one.

    All photographs, stories, videos, and content will be shared on Overdose Awareness Day (August 31st, 2020).

The title of his talk is “Overdose: Finding Your Path After Tragedy.” His talk will be followed by a Question and Answer period and we will hold a Closing Memorial and candle lighting, accompanied by musician Deeter Lutz. Children & teens are welcome. During the program Pathways Children’s Grief counselors will meet separately with children ages 5-13 to make a commemorative tile. If children will attend, adults need to pick up the supplies for their craft activity by Friday August 28 at the Pathays Center for Grief & Loss, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy PA between 8:00 and 4:00 p.m. If children attend they must be old enough to use Sharpies without supervision and the family would need two devices (smart phone, computer, ipad) and a good internet connection.

    2nd Annual Fox Cities Recovery Celebration and Memorial Walk to celebrate those in recovery and to remember those who have died from their addiction or the result of someone else’s addiction. Preregister to get the least expensive price $15 for adults and $10 for children with a guarantee of receiving a Walk t-shirt and Memorial Sign until August 25. Beginning August 26, there is an added online fee of $1.50 without a guarantee of a t-shirt and Memorial Sign.
    3:30 pm Registration and T-shirt pick up at Pavilion
    4:00 pm Walk begins to view and reflect on Memorial Signs posted along the walk route
    After the walk, gather at the Pavilion to join the Fox Cities Lights of Hope event (free) to listen to speakers, participate in candlelight vigil to celebrate those in recovery and to remember our loved ones, as well as those still struggling and those who are incarcerated. The Wisconsin Faces of Addiction and Recovery Quilts will be displayed. Narcan training will also be available for anyone who wants to be trained.
